SoilFloc Pond Sealer Coverage Calculator for Sealing Leaks
Estimate Units Needed
Yes, soifloc is the best seepage control for earthen ponds. However, this is only true if the right amount is used correctly.
How Your Calculation is Determined
SoilFloc® Sealant comes in two parts (Part A = 55lb bag and Part B = 55lb bag). When they are mixed in your pond, they become activated. The calculator above figures out how many units you need, where one unit equals 110 lbs. Each unit is engineered to treat approximately 3,000 square feet of pond bottom.
DISCLAIMER: This calculator is only meant to give you an approximate estimate. Factors like water depth and soil type play a role.

Step By Step Application Guide
Step By Step Application Guide
Soilfloc® Pond Sealant uses a two-part polymer system designed to locate and seal leaks naturally by working with the movement of water.
Step 1 – Flocculation (Part A):
Part A is a linear anionic polymer that carries a negative charge. When applied to the water’s surface, it attracts positively charged suspended clay and fine soil particles in the water column. As it binds with these particles, it becomes heavier and sinks to the bottom. Because water is actively moving toward the leak, Part A follows the flow into cracks, seams, and porous soil areas.
Step 2 – Swelling & Expansion:
Once inside the leak pathways, Part A hydrates and swells up to 300 times its weight. This expansion begins clogging soil pores and small fissures immediately.
Step 3 – Reinforcement (Part B):
Part B is a cross-linked polymer that continues to expand more slowly over several days. It absorbs water, enlarges within cracks and crevices, and reinforces the seal created by Part A.
Step 4 – Soil Matrix Seal:
Together, the linear and cross-linked polymers bind soil particles, plug void spaces, and create a flexible, long-lasting seal within the pond’s soil matrix — stopping water loss at the source.
Because the polymers are drawn directly toward active seepage, Soilfloc works best when the pond is full and leaking, allowing hydrostatic pressure to carry the material exactly where it is needed.

Let the Leak Show You the Problem. Soilfloc Seals It.
What Does This Mean?!
If your pond is leaking right now, that’s actually good. The moving water pulls Soilfloc directly to the problem area; where it swells, seals, and stabilizes the soil from the inside out.
- Instead of guessing where the leak is…
- Instead of draining thousands (or millions) of gallons…
- Instead of rebuilding your pond…
Best for:
✔ Earthen ponds (Clay, sand, and mixed soils)
✔ Farm ponds, cattle ponds, irrigation reservoirs
✔ Large ponds where draining is impractical
Not for liners or concrete.

Chemistry, Coverage and Compatibility
What Does This Mean?!
This is a DIY polymer science packaged for land owners. It's professional-grade system used across thousands of ponds, with over 85% of users reporting significant reduction in water loss... This isn’t bentonite or a temporary patch. And, this isn’t a contractor-only liquid treatment requiring 1,000+ gallons for a 1-acre pond.
✔ A long-term soil-integrated seal
✔ No heavy equipment / draining
✔ No contractor dependency
✔ Safe for fish, livestock, and wildlife
✔ Biodegradable & non-toxic

Application Guide - Apply with Confidence
What Does This Mean?!
- Just broadcast it like you’re feeding chickens.
- Then just give it time. Within days, you may notice reduced water loss.
- Within weeks, most leaks are significantly reduced.
And instead of watching inches disappear every day… You watch your water stay where it belongs and get to enjoy your pond habitat again.
Bentonite vs. Soilfloc
Bentonite is a reconstruction solution.
You drain the pond, mix clay into the soil, compact it, and rebuild the basin. Use it for when:
- Building a new pond
- Performing a full basin renovation
- You have equipment and compaction capability
- You want a full clay liner approach
Soilfloc is a leak-targeted solution.
You apply it while the pond is full, and the active leak draws it into problem areas where it swells and seals internally. Use it when:
- The pond is already full
- Draining is impractical
- You suspect localized leaks
- You want minimal disruption
- You need a field-ready solution

📖 Product Description +
Lake & Pond Sealant | Soilfloc® Polymer Leak Repair (2-Part System)
Soilfloc® is a high-performance, two-part polymer pond sealant designed to stop leaks and seepage in earthen ponds, reservoirs, canals, and irrigation ditches—without draining. Its dual-action formula binds fine particles and swells up to 300x its weight to plug soil pores and cracks, making it a cost-effective alternative to bentonite and expensive liners.
💎 Key Features & Benefits +
Apply directly to a full waterbody so natural seepage flow pulls polymers into the problem areas—no dewatering required.
Part A flocculates suspended clays while Part B hydrates and swells to plug cracks, crevices, and porous soil zones.
Anionic polyacrylamide (PAM) is widely tested for aquatic safety—safe for fish, livestock, wildlife, and plants when applied properly.
Swells in soil pores and attracts fine clay particles to build a tighter pond-bottom soil matrix over time.
A straightforward project that can typically be completed in a day, with full results often developing over the following weeks.
Thousands of units applied with over 85% of users reporting a significant reduction in water loss.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions +
Q? How does Soilfloc® find the leak?
A. It follows escaping water flow into cracks and expands to seal them.
Q? Is it safe for fish?
A. Yes, when applied correctly it is non-toxic and safe for aquatic life.
Q? When will I see results?
A. Some reduction may occur quickly, but full effectiveness is usually visible within 2–3 weeks.
