Description

Cutrine-Plus is a powerful aquatic herbicide formulated to control algae and certain aquatic plants in ponds, lakes, and slow-moving waterways. It works by disrupting the cell function of targeted algae and plant species, helping reduce dense blooms and slimy, nutrient-driven growths that can cloud water and harm overall pond health.

Designed for broad-spectrum performance, Cutrine-Plus is especially effective on filamentous algae and other persistent algal problems. When applied according to label directions, it can help restore clearer water and improve aesthetics and recreational use.

Ideal for pond owners seeking fast, targeted algae control as part of a balanced water management strategy. Always follow product instructions for safe and effective use.

Overview

Variant SKU: PSP0207

Cutrine® Algicide – Algae Killer for Ponds | Liquid

Cutrine Plus Liquid (1 Gallon) is a 9% chelated copper algaecide designed to control a broad range of algae in ponds, lakes, reservoirs, irrigation systems, hatcheries, and more.

Effective in both soft and hard water, Cutrine begins working on contact, breaking down algae cell structure and interrupting photosynthesis. Treated water may be used immediately for swimming, fishing, livestock watering, irrigation, and drinking.

Algae Controlled

Effective against a wide variety of algae including:

  • Chara
  • Spirogyra
  • Cladophora
  • Vaucheria
  • Ulothrix
  • Microcystis
  • Oscillatoria

Controls planktonic algae in 24–48 hours and filamentous algae in 3–4 days.

Application Rates & Instructions
  • Apply 0.6 – 1.2 gallons per acre-foot of water.
  • General guideline: 1 gallon per 1.5 acre-feet.
  • Dilute with a minimum of 9 parts water.
  • Spray uniformly over the water surface using coarse droplets.
  • Apply during calm, sunny mornings for best results.
  • Allow at least 3 hours of contact time.

Begin treatments in spring when water temperatures reach 60°F and above. Early treatment reduces product use and minimizes dead organic buildup.

Treat heavy infestations in sections to prevent oxygen depletion. Allow 1–2 weeks between treatments if retreatment is needed.

Benefits
  • Far less corrosive and more stable than many copper algaecides
  • Effective in hard water conditions
  • Works immediately upon contact
  • Long-lasting control (weeks to months depending on conditions)
  • Improves pond clarity and water quality
Important Safety Information
Important: Cutrine Plus Liquid may be toxic to trout if carbonate hardness is less than 50 ppm. Most surface waters exceed this limit. Test water hardness if unsure.
  • Do NOT use in water containing Koi or hybrid Goldfish.
  • Break apart heavy surface mats before application for better penetration.
  • Retreat as algae regrowth begins to appear.
