Description
Aquarian Quantum 5HP Surface Aerator
The Aquarian Quantum 5HP Surface Aerator is designed to perform two basic functions:
- Create a large continuous air/water interface to transfer atmospheric oxygen to the liquid being aerated
- Mix the liquid contents and keep degradable solids in suspension
The Aquarian Quantum surface aeration system for ponds & lakes produces a large volume of water. It produces from 3400 gpm for a five horsepower unit up to 8300 rpm for a 20hp unit. The Quantum diffuser redirects the water column from the propeller to an omni-directional pattern that is propelled at right angles to the water surface from the unit outward. As the redirected water flow from the diffuser is propelled through the air at a tremendous velocity, oxygen is being added at a substantial rate.
A sizable induced flow creates maximum directional flow as well as maximum dispersion of aerated water within the basin being treated.
All Season Performance! With over 95% of the weight of the aerator beneath the liquid surface, the Quantum Surface Aerator is guaranteed not to capsize due to ice or turbulence.

When to Use a Surface Aerator
Surface aerators are the ultimate solution for rejuvenating your pond or lagoon. When faced with algae overgrowth or unpleasant odors, surface aerators provide an effective remedy. They also work wonders for boosting the vitality of your fish by oxygenating the water. Designed to excel in shallow ponds, they’re perfect for maintaining a vibrant aquatic ecosystem. Whether you have a small backyard pond or a sprawling lagoon, surface aerators are your secret weapon for ensuring clean, clear, and lively water.
How Our Surface Aerator Works
The Quantum Surface Aeration system redirects water from the propeller into an omni-directional pattern, propelling it outward at right angles to the water’s surface. This innovative design, featured in the Aquarian Quantum surface aeration system, generates a substantial water flow ranging from 3400 to 8300 gallons per minute, depending on the unit’s horsepower. As this redirected water rushes through the air, it infuses the water with oxygen at an impressive rate.
The increased surface movement promotes thorough mixing of the water, reducing floating debris and anaerobic zones in the bottom water and sediment surface. Over time, this reduction in sediment can lead to decreased algae and weed growth, resulting in a clearer, fresher pond with minimized odors.
