Ugly Tree Fish Habitat
Adding an OWS Ugly Tree Fish Habitat will provide a much needed infrastructure to support healthy fish in your pond. This one-of-a-kind product provides a simple, yet effective solution for spawning and feeding areas.
Primarily, the Ugly Tree Fish Habitat serves as an excellent spawning habitat. Its tree design provides numerous nooks and crannies, creating an ideal environment for fish to lay and protect their eggs. This increases the survival rate of the eggs and contributes to a more stable and thriving fish population over time.
Additionally, the habitat acts as an effective feeding area. It attracts an array of insects and microorganisms that are a natural food source for fish. The OWS Ugly Tree Fish Habitat ensures that the fish have ample nourishment, which is vital for their growth and health. In most ponds, small fish fry are eaten by bass, bluegill and other predator fish when they are small and have limited food value. The Ugly Tree Fish Habitat provides tons of protection for these small fish to survive and not get eaten. The food value of a 3″ or 4″ fish is 1,000 times more than if it’s 1/8″.
What Makes the Ugly Tree Fish Habitat Different:
- Each Ugly Tree Fish Habitat includes over 1,000,000 individual leaflets that promote and hold periphyton (which is a mixture of algae, cyanobacteria, heterotrophic microbes and detritus) which is critical to small fish fry growth.
- Can be placed in groups of 4-8 trees for optimal coverage.
- Provides shelter and protection for juvenile fish allowing them to grow with protection from predators like bass, catfish and other pan fish.
